Dr. Craig is a lifelong resident of Elkins, West Virginia. He graduated Elkins High School in 1981, Penn State University with a degree in Biology 1985, The Ohio State University, College of Optometry in 1989. He was accepted and attended pediatric residency program at State University of New York (SUNY), State College of Optometry.
In 1990 he returned to Elkins and opened his practice in Beverly, West Virginia. and was accepted in the American Academy of Optometry in his first year of eligibility in 1992. He has been named as the West Virginia Optometrist of the Year and is a past president of the West Virginia Association of Optometric Physicians. He is solicited by Optometric associations, civic organizations, business, industry and numerous Boards of Education as a consultant and to provide continuing education.
Dr. Craig is an active member of our community. He served for many years with the Mountain State Forest Festival including being Director General in 1997 and a member of the Board of Directors. He has volunteered as a coach in many local youth leagues. He has been an active LSIC (local school improvement council) member for numerous schools. Dr Craig is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Elkins. He is a past president of the Tygart Valley Lions Club. He lives in Elkins with his wife Shelley and his two sons Brant and Zach.
