National Glaucoma Awareness Month

Glaucoma is a gradual degeneration of cells that make up the optic nerve which carries visual information from the eye to the brain.  Glaucoma’s effects on the eyes are slow and usually painless,k but the vision loss that occurs is permanent – irreversible.

The American Optometric Association and Dr. Hyre recommend regular comprehensive eye examination as your best defense against vision threatening diseases like glaucoma.
